"Of Mountains and Seas" by Gao Xin Jian - World Premier in CUHK (Students' special)

"Of Mountains and Seas" (山海經傳) is written by Mr Gao based on the utmost famous Shan Hai Jing (山海經) with lots of legends and imginary figures. This show was exceptionally interesting as the production team wanted to re-construct the play in an arena at New Asia College of CUHK like those played in Greece 4000 years ago, and the characters, ways of performance (with story tellers), costumes and sounds were really impressive. Though it was really not as comfortable in air-conditioned theatre as it was performed in wet summer night, it was a show full of surprise and visually stimulating. Estimated from the scale of production, the ticket price is really something 'price-for-value'. The formal performance will be in the latter half of this week, hope people enjoy it.

Fun Day~

Be nostalgic... And going crazy!

Juxtaposition 2008 - Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) of RMIT Graduation Show

RMIT with Hong Kong Arts School always has the BA(Fine Arts) Graduation Show in summer, and it is earlier in this summer. The exhibition started on 13 May. It was not only an opening night for RMIT graduates of this year but also a gathering of numbers of their graduates. I am not any of them but know a few of them, and was glad to chat with these friends with a cup of beer, yes, red wine went off and replaced by beer (well...). Works are lovely, but the one I like most is an installation made by a girl from Macau with Portugual background, showing a slight trace of exotic smell from this booming city, and one can only view this work on site to get the most out of it.

Children visit to my studio

I always say, art links people.
A group of kindergarten teachers attended a forum held by Artmatch Group in HKIEd and chatted happily with us, and we found out that they found us from Fotanians. At the same time, I found that they are the colleagues of one of my old students. What a small world!
We worked out project for families of their students to tour in some of the galleries in Fotan in a Saturday morning, including mine and my friends'. It is rather impressive to know that the headmaster of this kindergarten encouraging the teachers of thinking out of the box, enjoying arts can happen not only in museums, but also commercial galleries and studios with artists working in them. This is a chance for these future master to know better of the habitat of local arts. It was really enjoyable to see both adults and kids love viewing our works!

Rolling Stones forever!

Rock'N Roll is not really my cup of tea. But! After viewing this film "Shine a light", actually after viewing the "coming-soon" cuts in early May, I have made up my mind that I must view this film, I have a new understanding of Rock'N Roll and the Rolling Stones!
It is utmost impressive to see these four gentlemen, fantastic Mick, cool handsome guitarist Ronnie, fancily pretty guitarist Keith, and humble drummer Charlie Watts, jumping and singing on the stage! The energy and the charisma of them is really GREAT! All except the wrinkles on their faces, their appearance, confidence and shape are forever young!
With the master cut by Martin Scorsese, this is a very very interesting film! :P

Cheung Hing at Happy Valley

This is a 58-year cafeteria in Happy Valley. Still full of people on Sunday. And my friend told me Regina Yip was sitting behind me when we checked out the bill. Arrrh, Regina, well, relax and take a break, forget your typical cynical expression, won't you?

The Savages

Unexpectedly warm and lovely film! Reflect what is faced by most daughters and sons when they have to take care of old parents, especially reaching the time they go back to the stage somewhat like a little child. It's a little bitter but humour about life throughout the film. The director handled the life and death in such a way that touch the bottom of my heart, no tears but lots of good memory. I simply love it.

My first home-made espresso

Not bad in compare with the one from automatics, right? Got pass in creama, and aroma. Done with beans from Thailand. Perhaps that's why I got sore throat after tasting so much good coffee in these days, alas~

Touch the soul with voice of Sandy Lam

Choice from her die-hard fan. No reason, but for the extremely wonderful new arrangement in the music of Sandy's concert of all her not-so-hit-but-much-appreciated songs throughout the years. Elegant forever, Sandy!
