Good bye! Venezia

My 4-day-3-night stay in this dreamlike city is over. Just barely enough to cover the two biennale core exhibition venues, few must-see-spots, but no time to visit Guggenheim Museum, the one I long to visit, and other islands like Murano.
Well, Venice is undeniably beautiful, without too much rich-rude-and-noisy tourists will be better.
If not for Biennale, my next visit to Venezia must be in winter.

Reflection

I'm on my way to Macro Polo Aeroporto.
This pic is taken this morning, a walk w/o map B-)

Arsenale...Hot! Hot! Hot!

I have no idea the temperature today. I just keep sweat like crazy.
You see I smile just because I have finished the hot journey in Arsenale.
I have found HK exhibition. Surprisingly, it's just at the opposite of the entrance of the Arsenale! Viewed Chìnese Pavilion, well, better view Taipei (Pavilion) first. And I start to see why Taiwan works are given venue near St. Macro in recent years.

Good night Venice

Venezia at night

No Actv but cafes are busy. What a colourful night!

I AM in St. Macro Pl.!

My network for blog is supported by 3 IT, but network by my hotel is by vodafone :-( Thus, am still in the street for uploading!

Taipei representatives!

One of my favourite in the esposizione

A neonlight work by a Great Britain artist

I won't have time 'sight-seeing' by gondola this time. My eyes got tired after viewing 30 pavlions and 3 additional venues today, 10>18, time is not enough, plenty excellent museo to go!
My photos here are taken by this SE K810i.

Taipei Pavilon

I've found it!

Ponte Rialto

A bit early in the morning, Italians are busy going work. Venezia is still in her dream. Misty morning gives a different colour, less intense but a down-to-earth old graceful city.

Ciao

2nd day in Venezia, 1st morning indeed.

Good morning Frankfurt!

Frankfurt(Main)

Gorgeous old building, very impressive especially after 1hr46min travel from Kassel via Fulda on IC train (learnt from the precision of German). The Hauptbahnhof is rather dream-like at night.

Kassel is...

Karlsaue
Beautiful Parks
documenta
Very nice and well-educated people
Cool guys and gals
Big, cute and well-fed dogs
Museums and heritages
Blue sky
Beautiful houses
History
Bistro and cafè
Pilsener
Long twilight
Graffiti
Graceful elderly
Barrier-free
Flowers and trees
Free transport with documenta tickets
Convenient modern trams with windows open
Stone and pebble roads and walks
German, a warm language, and spoken softly

Good-bye, I will miss you much
I am sure I will be back again

Cascades in front of Hercules in Bergpark

I visited this again on the 3rd day in Kassel. The statue of Hercules is under renovation but the cascade is beautiful, imagine the time in 17th century, pleasing royal families living in castles high above cities was not easy at all!
Do you see the rainbow above the fountain?

My documenta is...

A corner of works by Mària Bartuszovà in Aue-Pavillon
This shows the plaster oval form tighted by pieces of string.

What's more, see the covering of the venue, they are plastic mesh for greenhouse!

documenta is...

Claes Oldenburg: 'Pick-Axe' documenta 7, 1982
Children played around the sculpture happily in the beautiful twilight. It's now a public art in Kassel.
To my guardian:
The documenta is considered to be the most important exhibition of contemporary art worldwide. Founded in 1955, it takes place every 5 years in Kassel. [adopted from "Kassel cultural guide and map"]
I am just a pilgrim for art and it's really a great eye-opening experience.

Last venue tomorrow: Auepavillon

Me after visiting the Hercules

Feels like hiking but this is highly recommended by a lady I met at Karlswiese.

Kassel in the morning

Königsstr.

Schloss Wilhelmshöhe

Kassel at night

View from my room, look for the cock on windvane. It's a popular icon for Kassel.

Mövenpick Hotel Kassel

Take left of the Kurfürsten Galerie and here it is. I bumped in the galerie and painstakingly found its little door on the 2nd floor.

Kurfürsten Galerie

Spohrstrasse 4

Königsplatz

This is a lovely platz with a number of water spout-like sculptures. Children love them very much! Most trams stop here (except 7). Turn north and walk for 100m will find the Kurfürsten Galerie shopping mall, and find the hotel I am living.

Outdoor sculpture in Kassel

This is 'Rahmenbau' by Haus-Rucker-Co for documenta 6,1977. It's now a permenant display near documenta-Halle.

Hurricane saved me

On the arrival at Kassel, I took my luggage for 3 hours, wanna save time to view more exhibits. But I was lost till a kind gentleman sent me to a tram and told me off at Mombachstr in German. Bumping with gut and luck, I reached a place like an art school, and settled myself in this cosy cafè. Actually it's just opposite to Kulturzentrum Schlachthof, one of the venues of Documenta 12!

Flame wood in rain

I remember my mother and I used to watch the beautiful flame woods in the stadium by our home. We had a lot of peaceful afternoons together. The one in photo is in Wu Kai Sha Youth Camp. It looks rather strong in the heavy rain.

Kittens at Fotan

There is a store selling noodles and drinks for people working at the industrial building where our studio situated at. Owner of the store is a nice man, and he lets his family member adopt lots of kittens and puppies picked nearby. These three are one month old. They are small but tough on survival.

Birthday gathering of Ben

On 29 April, just after my 2nd weekend of OC, we had a gathering with Ben, Gary, Andrea and her bf Frankie. We dined at a Thai rertaurant at Knustford Terrance. Wow, Ben was great as he's got a good life companion!

Friends in Open Day

In the terrific 3 days of Open Day, numbers of old boys and girls were back. This is Cheung, hardworking guy with mature character. Funny enough, he uses the brown version of K800i, mine is silver :-D

My angels

These 3 young men all in same Tee are extremely helpful in the preparatory work of the anniversary. Harvey, Ka Shun and Yeung, thank a lot! Kiss kiss :-*

We are good fish!

Tai O

I paid another visit to Tai O with friends yesterday. The only difference is that it's the first time with a SLD. But worst enough, both batteries ran out together! These are taken by my mobile, they are nice, too!

The best pic in our last Artmatch Show

Among all those photos taken in the Artmatch Group Exhibition 2007 at HKVAC, I love this most, with two good friends at my recent work in 2007. They are so sensitive that knowing I am saying something beyond the content shown on the picture. And I know, pictures don't tell lies.

Lovely kids of FFTS

Billy and Leon are two cute Primary 3 kids in my sunday painting class. Leon doesn't talk too much, but he is very focused when he is working on his artwork. Billy, a big-eyed kid, knows what I am thinking of the class most of the time, he is sweet and gentle. They are working on dreams to be come truth with the help of easter eggs. Aren't they cute?
