Yayoi Kusama in HK

Yayoi Kusama (草間彌生), a very famous Japanese artist who has a special keen in pumpkin. However, the curators of this show seems define this artist as a pumpkin-artist so as to be one of the programme for the upcoming Halloween. How can the HK people treat Yayoi Kusama as a common artist? Look for her details!

New Oliva near my home

This is a very interesting vegetarian restaurant in Happy Valley, introduced by Mr Ma K.M, my art teacher in the secondary school. He is retired and works as a consultant of a publisher. He had regular gathering with our schoolmates and this is the first time I joined them, very happy and warm indeed.

MYCOSA Folk Song Fever

MYCOSA organsied her first musical event for the alumni on 30 September 2007. Though not all performing guests are alumni, the external musicians are really professional! And look for the Gibson guitar~ Cool!

These two guys claimed themselves twins! Believe it?

Folk song party, of course need kind of colours.

Lust, Caution

Due to Ang Lee, Tony Leung and Joan Chen, I had big desire in viewing this film. And thanks to my friend, we four women viewed this talk-of-the-town at night of Mid-Autumn festival.
Perhaps I was too occupied in mind of the Tony Leung in Wong Kar Wai's films, like "In the mood of love (花樣年華)" or "Days of being wild (阿飛正傳)", expecting a charming and cool-minded guy in this film. However, Tony was far too old than any of his previous film! His way of sitting in the room when he firstly met Tong Wei privately in this film keeps reminding me of the ad of a Macau casino/hotel.
Tong Wei, well, a very special actress of the contemporary face of the WWII-era of the film, acted very well in this film. She played well of showing the inner struggle of the young woman engaged in the complicated relationship with Tony Leung. And of course, the sex scenes, is nothing about porn, Ang Lee showed the real tension of lust and caution undercurrent. Viewers under the age of 18, got to wait for a while.
However, the casting of this film makes me rather confused. Tony Leung's wife, Joan Chen, is too old for Tony. In the first 10 minutes shots at the mahjong table, I can only imagine Joan Chen is the elder sister of Tony. Joan Chen actually played her role beautifully, just too good for any further comment. The only problem is still the age gap of her with Tony.
Another surprise in this film is the detailed research of the old scenes of Hong Kong in WWII. I like the re-creation of the old Victoria Harbour viewing from the Hong Kong University, the Central, and Ang Lee really shot at the Feng Ping Shan Museum of the Hong Kong University!
Leehom, well, a very good second character, handsome and tall. But Chin Ka Lok, well, acted too much in his little role. This may be another weakness of this film.
Anyway, I recommend this film, despite it is quite a bit long (159 min.), and not only for the sake of the good acting of all roles, but also the music! The beautiful but sad music is created by Alexandre Desplat!

The new face of my latest work

This work is actually an "order" from a friend. I never work in this way before as taking "order" is not my direction of work. But due to some really unknown reason, after "taking the order", I work on this painting on superior speed, and I allow my friend to make suggestions on modification of the work, as long as the whole painting is in red and purple hue, and NOT in floral form. First requirement is still okay, the latter... my friend finally perceives as flower, again. Can't it be an "Explosion"?
